Trakhees will carry out more than 22,000 inspections in 2023

During 2023, the Department of Planning and Development (Trakhees)the regulatory body of the Ports, Customs and Free Zones Corporationstepped up its inspection efforts at retail facilities in its designated development zones, conducting more than 22,249 inspection tours, leading to the issuance of 450 violations across different sectors.

According to recent official statistics released by the Trakhees Licensing Department, there was a significant increase in the number of inspection tours during 2023, showing an increase of 108 percent compared to 2022. In 2022, there were 10,692 inspection tours organized by the Commercial and Retail Department. Inspection Department, resulting in 220 violations.

For its part, Abdullah Belhoul, CEO of Trakhees, explained how the Department carries out a series of inspection tours in various areas based on a comprehensive plan and a specific schedule. These inspections adhere to specialized standards and are aimed at achieving strategic objectives related to compliance with standards and requirements in commercial and retail areas, with a focus on reducing violations to protect the rights and interests of customers.
