Eid Al Fitr 2024: Holidays for public and private sector employees in the United Arab Emirates

The Ministry has announced that Monday, 29 Ramadan (April 8, 2024) to 3 Shawwal (or its equivalent in Gregorian date) will be a paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr. .

This means that the Eid holiday for the private sector begins on Monday, April 8 (29 Ramadan). If the first day of Eid is Tuesday, the offices will remain closed until Thursday, April 11.

But if the first day of Eid is Wednesday, the holiday for the private sector is extended until Friday, April 12.

The UAE Cabinet has confirmed a week-long public sector holiday to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. This aligns with the previous announcement by the Federal Human Resources Authority of the UAE Government. Government employees will be on paid leave from Monday, April 8 through Sunday, April 14 and will return to work on Monday, April 15.
