Are you visiting the United Arab Emirates for the first time and want to explore everything the different emirates have to offer? Or are you a resident and wish to travel outside your emirate?

If you’re unsure about public transportation options for traveling between cities, read on. The UAE has a public transport network that facilitates travel within and between the emirates.

Different emirates have different transport platforms to help you navigate stations, schedules and fare requirements between cities. Access online information to plan your trip without complications. Here you will find an overview of the bus services that can take you from one emirate to another.




Dubai

The RTA’s currently operational intercity bus services are E100, E101, E201, E303, E306, E307, E307A, E315, E400, E411, E16 and E700 between Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Hatta, Fujairah and Al Ain .

Dubai Bus is in full operation from 4am to 1am (the next day).

Routes

  • E100: between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station

  • E101: between Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station

  • E201: between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Al Ain Central Bus Station

  • E303: between Union Square Bus Station and Sharjah, Al Jubail Bus Station

  • E306: between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Sharjah, Al Jubail Bus Station

  • E307: between Deira City Center Bus Station and Sharjah, Al Jubail Bus Station

  • E307A: between Abu Hail Bus Station and Sharjah, Al Jubail Bus Station

  • E315: between Etisalat Bus Station and Sharjah, Al Muwailah Bus Terminal

  • E400: between Union Square Bus Station and Ajman, Al Musallah Bus Station

  • E411: between Etisalat Bus Station and Ajman, Al Musallah Bus Station

  • E16: between Sabkha bus station and Hatta bus station

  • E700: between Union Square Bus Station and Fujairah, Choithrams Supermarket Bus Station

The RTA also operates two active routes from Dubai to Hatta.

  • H02 (Hatta Express): Dubai Mall Bus Station – Hatta Bus Station

This bus operates from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily every two hours on luxury coaches at a rate of Dh25 per passenger per trip.

  • H04 (Hatta Hop on Hop off) – circular route starting and ending at Hatta Bus Station

The bus passes by four tourist spots (Hatta Wadi Hub, Hatta Hill Park, Hatta Dam and Heritage Village). It operates from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day every 30 minutes at a rate of Dh2 per passenger per bus stop.

Dubai intercity bus routes can be paid with a Nol card.

  2. In the drop-down menu, hover over “bus” and then click “plan your trip.”
  3. Select your start and destination points.
  4. Click Search and access schedules and rates.

Sharjah

Do you want to travel to an emirate other than Sharjah? Buses from Sharjah can connect you to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ajman and Fujairah.

  • 117G: between Jubail Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Bus Station with a fare of 35 dirhams
  • 116G: between Jubail bus station and stops in Fujairah with a fare of 30 dirhams.
  • 308G, 309G and 313G and other routes: between Sharjah and various stops in Dubai for fares as low as DH15
  • 114G – between Jubail Bus Station and various stops in Ajman for fares as low as Dh8

To plan your intercity trip in more detail, follow these steps

  1. Visit the website: srta.gov.ae
  2. Click “Transportation Sector” in the header to access “Transportation Services” in the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on “Intercity Bus Schedule.”
  4. Select your “from” and “to” stations for information on schedules, fares and line numbers.

Abu Dhabi

If you are in Abu Dhabi, intercity buses connecting you to Sharjah and Dubai are conveniently available.

RTA routes E100 and E101 seamlessly connect Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

  • E100: between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station

  • E101: between Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station

The SRTA 117R route connects Abu Dhabi with several stops within Sharjah, for a fare of Dh30.

  • 117R: between Abu Dhabi/Abu Dhabi Bus Station and Al Khan Interchange Stop 2, Carrefour Stop 1 Al Wahda Street, MAX Stop 1 Al Wahda Street, Post Office Stop 1 Al Wahda Street, Ittihad Park Stop 1, Ittihad Road Ansar Mall Stop 1, Ittihad Road Restaurant Complex Stop 1, Ittihad Road Safeer Mall Stop 1, Ittihad Road Safeer Mall Stop 2, Jubail/Sharjah Station, King Faisal Street Al Estiqlal Street Junction Stop 1, King Faisal Street Sharjah Islamic Bank Stop 2

  1. Visit https://darbi.itc.gov.ae/
  2. In the side menu, click “trip planner.”
  3. Select your departure and arrival stations.
  4. Choose your preferred mode of transportation and access schedules and rates.

Ras Al Khaimah

If you want to travel between Ras Al Khaimah and other emirates, intercity buses connect Ras Al Khaimah with Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al Quwain, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

  • RAK Bus Station to Dubai Union operates Saturday to Friday from 5:30 am to 9 pm, with a fare of Dh27.
  • RAK to Sharjah operates Saturday to Friday from 8am to 9pm with a fare of Dh27
  • RAK to Ajman operates from Saturday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a fare of Dh20.
  • From RAK to UAQ operates from Saturday to Friday from 5:30 am to 9 pm with a fare of Dh15
  • RAK to Abu Dhabi operates from Saturday to Friday at 9am and 3pm with a fare of Dh47
  • RAK to Al Ain operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. with a fare of Dh47.
  • RAK a Global Village operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 p.m. with a fare of Dh30.
  • RAK to Dubai Mall operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm and 5pm with a fare of Dh30.
