UAE: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid approves Dh5.5 billion for 2,300 new homes in Dubai

Sheikh Mohammed assured that citizens, their families and social stability are fundamental to all government plans and the ultimate objectives of all initiatives planned by him. Sheikh Mohammed said Dubai’s continued success story is the result of prioritizing public well-being and harnessing all available resources to ensure optimal conditions for work and creativity. Good housing, social welfare measures and a sense of tranquility and faith in tomorrow contribute to promoting social cohesion in the emirate, he added.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to launching even more important projects to meet the aspirations of its citizens. “The family is the cornerstone of the nation and the basis of all development plans. Our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of citizens for a better future,” he stated.

Latifa City, the new area designated for citizen housing, pays tribute to the memory of Sheikh Mohammed’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. She dedicated a significant portion of her book ‘My Story’ to reflecting on her humanitarian contributions and her influential role in Dubai.

The housing plots intended for citizens cover an area of ​​40 million square feet and eligible citizens of Dubai will receive the property in February. These include 2,700 plots in Latifa town and 800 plots in Al Yalayis 5 area. The 2,300 new citizen homes are located in Al Khawaneej 2, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi and Hatta areas.

Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General of Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Welfare of Dubai, who is also Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Urban Planning Committee, emphasized the committee’s dedication to implementing initiatives, designing exemplary neighborhoods and undertaking online residential projects. with the leadership’s vision of providing the best standards of living to citizens. This commitment aims to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, which aims to establish a global development model focused on empowering the community and ensuring family stability, he added.

Dawood Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, emphasized the municipality’s commitment to actively collaborate with government entities to improve the happiness and well-being of citizens and future generations. These efforts were also aimed at promoting sustainable development in Dubai, with a strong emphasis on human-centred approaches and improving the overall quality of life, he added.

Omar Hamad Abdullah Hamad Bu Shehab, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, highlighted the establishment’s dedication to fostering collaboration with various entities to ensure the provision of modern and integrated housing services. All of these initiatives sought to ensure the social stability of Emirati families in Dubai, align with the objectives of Dubai’s Urban Master Plan 2040 and reinforce the comprehensive sustainable development model that is being implemented throughout Dubai, fully considering its aspirations for the future.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid had earlier this month launched the Dh208 billion Dubai Social Agenda programme, one of whose key objectives was to double the number of Emirati families in the emirate within a decade. He also laid out plans to further improve housing standards, healthcare and the overall quality of life of citizens.
