The Dubai Courts Friendly Dispute Resolution Center (ADRC) achieved impressive results in 2023, with a 74.67% year-on-year increase in reconciliation agreements and a staggering AED 4.77 billion in financial settlements.
This was announced by Issa Bin Tameem, Director of the Dubai Courts Amicable Dispute Resolution Centerwhich today revealed the center’s statistics for 2023.
These figures underline the successful efforts made by the administration to achieve agreements and reconciliation in disputes. The center has seen an increase in the number of settlement agreements, marking a 74.67% increase over the previous year. Furthermore, financial settlements, denominated in dirhams, have reached a staggering 4,773,646,865.
Bin Tameem He stated that the center has been instrumental in fostering a culture of settlement and reconciliation, and in resolving disputes peacefully. It is considered a valuable resource for individuals, businesses and the entire community to achieve resolution and justice in disputes. From this perspective, the center concluded a series of reconciliation agreements, resolved 2,531 disputes in 2023, and issued 3,266 decisions to end disputes. In addition, 910 expert disputes were resolved after the presentation of the corresponding report.
The Director of the Center for Friendly Dispute Resolution has further clarified that there has been a 41% increase in registration compared to the previous year. This underlines the increasing inclination of disputing parties to resort to settlement and reconciliation as an effective means of resolving disputes, and the improvement in the speed of concluding them at an excellent pace. An agreement was reached in an average of 16 days from the date of invitation to the parties to the dispute for settlement and reconciliation. Additionally, 598 requests for approval of conciliation agreements were executed in just one day, contributing to the acceleration of the dispute resolution process and the achievement of justice. These achievements have had a positive impact on the happiness of the community, raising the user happiness percentage to 98%.
In the context of digital transformation, Bin Tameem He highlighted that a 100% rate was achieved in the adoption of conciliation agreements through the digital signature of all disputing parties. This has contributed significantly to facilitating and accelerating the resolution process, achieving greater efficiency in dispute management. It also provides a secure and reliable means of confirming the agreement of the disputing parties to the terms of the agreement and its legal documentation.
