Dubai: It’s time to put on your sneakers, grab your workout gear and take on the challenge of getting fit, as registration for the much-awaited seventh edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) is now open.

Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, in 2017, the city’s ultimate fitness event will reach new heights this year. DFC, which will take place from Saturday, October 28 to Sunday, November 26, is a month-long, citywide initiative that challenges residents and visitors alike to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity daily for 30 days.

Inspiring people every step of the way with an action-packed calendar of free and inclusive fitness centres, events, community centres, classes and activities, DFC is on a mission to transform Dubai into one of the most active cities in the world.

Promising to be the biggest edition yet, DFC this year will feature three 30-day fitness villages, including the return of the much-loved DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village, a bustling hive of sporting activity in one of the most iconic coastal locations. from Dubai. Community Fitness Centers

The Challenge will also feature 25 community fitness centers across the city, including Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), Hatta, Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) and Dubai Police Officers Club, offering sports activations and fitness classes. free fitness.

Dubai Ride presented by DP World will mark its return on Sunday, November 12. Supported by the Roads and Transport Authority, it will offer families, recreational cyclists and cycling enthusiasts a truly unforgettable experience as they cycle through Dubai’s iconic landmarks along Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai. To add to the excitement, the popular Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai and supported by Sun and Sand Sports, will also return, with participants running along Sheikh Zayed Road. Marking the culmination of DFC on Sunday, November 26, it will offer families, aspiring runners and professionals the opportunity to be part of the world’s largest free fun run. The last edition saw record participation in both events, with 34,897 cyclists taking part in Dubai Ride and 193,000 runners, joggers and walkers joining Dubai Run.

Leaving the new event

An exciting new mega event, Dubai Stand-Up Paddle, will liven up the DFC calendar. Set against the backdrop of the stunning and iconic location of Hatta, it promises an unforgettable day of activities dedicated to fitness and well-being. Taking place on Saturday 18 November, participants will join guided training sessions and a massive challenge event, before relaxing with a serene sunset yoga session. To ensure a seamless experience, attendees will also have access to free transportation from Dubai and high-quality boards.
