Hamdan bin Mohammed meets with artificial intelligence experts at DCAI accelerator program

The assembled AI experts represent 30 startups from around the world actively participating in the final stage of the recently launched Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI) accelerator program.

Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Dubai will maintain its position as a global hub for testing and deploying AI applications in smart healthcare, smart mobility, logistics, smart supply chains, e-commerce, knowledge transfer, among other sectors that are critical to the advancement of nations and societies.

He added: “We are keen to continue building capabilities, developing skills and attracting talent brimming with future ideas and technologies, so that we have the expertise to keep pace with rapid transformations and develop innovations to reimagine, inspire and design the future”.

The best business minds at work

AREA 2071 hosts the final stage of the DCAI accelerator program, which has attracted startups from around the world, including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Egypt, Pakistan, Italy, Lebanon, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland. and the United Arab Emirates. These companies were selected from among 615 companies from 55 countries that had initially applied to participate in the program.

These companies are working in cooperation with a group of government entities in Dubai over a period of 8 weeks to develop innovative solutions and applications employing artificial intelligence tools for two key sectors: government services and media and communications.

The DCAI, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, aims to support Dubai’s government agencies to harness future technologies practically and effectively in preparation for upcoming transformations in vital sectors.

The DCAI aims to train 1,000 government employees from more than 30 government entities in the uses of AI, which will help increase the productivity of government employees in general, in addition to launching pilot projects and improving government services that they can take advantage of. these applications.

The Dubai Assembly for Generative AI

In July, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed announced the Dubai Assembly for Generative AI, which will be hosted by the Dubai Future Foundation from October 11 to 12, 2023 at the Museum of the Future and AREA 2071 at Emirates Towers in Dubai. The assembly will host ministers, officials, CEOs and experts from leading technology companies, entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, academics and emerging technology companies, with the ultimate goal of highlighting the importance of adopting artificial intelligence tools for the improvement of the government and the private sector. sector
