etisalat by e& globally achieves critical 5G mmWave milestone

etisalat by e& today announced a global industry milestone with the successful pilot deployment of mmWave across 10 kilometers, laying the foundation for commercial 5G private networks and accelerating the digital transformation journey for customers and enterprises.
The deployment of 5G mmWave network capacity (FR2 only) was led as part of etisalat by e& vision to deliver cutting-edge technologies to society.
This is considered as the first global deployment of 5G on mmWave @ 26Ghz, FR2 only over 10 km with high speeds. The move aimed to address consumer and enterprise demand to have a solution that follows the highest standards of data security and digitization over mobile networks and is also capable of delivering large amounts of data reliably and securely.
mmWave spectrum generally refers to above 24 GHz, which can offer extreme capacity, ultra-high throughput and ultra-low latency, which has huge potential in multiple applications for both consumers and enterprises.
The solution demonstrates the ability of 5G networks to enable upstream heavy video and real-time data transfer scenarios in a specific geographic area, effectively paving the way towards digital transformation of industries operating over vast areas.

This achievement will support the use of 5G network for FWA subscribers who can enjoy a fiber-like user experience over a wireless network and will also accelerate the adoption of 5G private network technology in other sectors such as oil and gas, public safety, healthcare, manufacturing and more.
