Marking an agreement between ADU, Midbar and RBK, the trio envisions laying a business foundation dedicated to offering supply and R&D solutions spanning multiple sectors in the UAE; including agriculture, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare and water desalination.

AirFarme showcases a combination of futuristic technologies, including IoT and AI, combined with more than 15 “next-generation solutions” for food security and sustainable agriculture.

The inauguration was attended by ADU leaders, in particular Professor Ghassan Aouad, rector of ADU; Saeed Bin Rashed Khalfan Al Dhaheri, vice president of RBK; and Moses Seo, CEO of Midbar; accompanied by representatives from entities such as RBK, Gracia Group and the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, to name a few.

Guests had the opportunity to tour AirFarm and participate in its inaugural harvest. Emphasizing advances in smart agriculture, the novel solutions “will promise an increase in crop yields of almost 30 percent, while marking a sharp decrease in labor costs and resources.”

Professor Aouad said: “Our partnership with Midbar epitomizes our quest to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions to our community. We envision this facility as an incubator of ideas, empowering our students and faculty to move forward as agents of change.”
