Watch: More than 35,000 Dubai Ride cyclists pedal down Sheikh Zayed Road for the Dubai Fitness Challenge

Dubai: This morning, the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai was transformed into a giant cycle track as part of the fourth edition of the Dubai Ride, presented by DP World.

The flagship Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) event attracted more than 35,000 cyclists of various ages and abilities who collectively rode more than 546,000 km, cementing its status as the region’s largest community cycling event.

Dubai Ride is aligned with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, to transform the city into one of the most active cities in the world and with the broadest vision of making of Dubai the most active city in the world. Dubai Ride, an inclusive and non-competitive event, offered people the opportunity to not only get closer to achieving their ’30X30′ goals (of 30 minutes of exercise daily for 30 days), but also to come together as a community and experience the joy of Cycling in a truly unique environment.

This year, the event featured two distinct routes – the 12km Sheikh Zayed Road and the 4km Downtown Family Tour – that highlighted some of Dubai’s highlights, including the renowned Museum of the Future (MOTF), the picturesque Canal Dubai Water Tower and the majestic Burj Khalifa.

Fun and exercise

Dubai Police supercars led the Dubai Ride outing, and the presence of riders on novelty bikes was among some of this morning’s highlights, infusing the much-loved event with an extra dose of excitement and fun. Even Modesh and Dana joined in the festivities, participating in the Downtown Family route.

Participants also showed their creativity and enthusiasm by adorning their bicycles with decorations they made at the colorful costume station on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. These elements collectively contributed to creating a vibrant atmosphere on the downtown family route.

Dubai Ride has become a highly anticipated event in the city’s annual calendar as it promotes an active and healthy lifestyle while fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
