In a major act of philanthropy, Carl Runefelt, CEO of The Moon Group and founder of cryptojobs.comhas made a generous donation of Dh300,000 to the Emirates Down Syndrome Association (EDSA), demonstrating their deep commitment to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome.

EDSA, recognized for its guiding principle of “unlocking hidden potential”, has been at the forefront of upholding the rights and development of people of determination in the region. Under the leadership of Dr. Manal Jaroor, the association has become a pioneer in providing education and empowerment to people with Down syndrome. Their programs are designed to teach life skills, encourage independence, and build a community of support and friendship.

Dr. Jaroor, President of EDSA, expressed her sincere gratitude to Mr. Runefelt for his important contribution. She highlighted how this donation will reinforce the association’s efforts to improve its services, support events and activities and ensure the full social inclusion of people with Down syndrome. Dr Jaroor also highlighted EDSA’s unwavering commitment since its inception in 2006 to raise awareness of the capabilities and potential of people with Down syndrome, aligning with national policy to empower people of determination.

Additionally, a portion of this donation will be channeled to enhance EDSA’s digital presence, with the aim of increasing public awareness and emphasizing the center’s positive impact on people with Down syndrome in the UAE.

Sharing his motivation, Runefelt revealed his personal experience, noting that his younger brother was born with Down syndrome and faced numerous challenges, including a heart condition and cancer in his early life.
