Offers free visas to seven countries

Sri Lanka aims to attract more tourists by granting free visas to visitors from seven countries, including China, India, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. Its goal: to attract five million tourists in three years.

To help visitors explore easily, they are making it simpler to visit multiple heritage sites with a single ticket. They also plan to make it easier to buy train tickets, allowing people to do so online or at the airport.

This plan is part of Sri Lanka’s broader goal of improving tourism, growing its economy and improving tourist visitation. It follows the global trend of adapting to post-pandemic tourism, showing that Sri Lanka wants to welcome more visitors and make their trips enjoyable.
