First of all, whoever attacks the “physical integrity of another by any means and causes the attack to result in his illness or incapacity for personal work for a period exceeding twenty days” will be subject to a fine and will be sentenced to prison. .

However, if the assault is not as serious as indicated above, the perpetrator will be fined up to Dh10,000 and may be sentenced to one year in prison.

The authority even stated that if the assault results in the abortion of a pregnant woman, then it will be considered an aggravated circumstance.

The foregoing in accordance with article 390 of Federal Decree-Law No. 31 of the year 2021, by which the Penal Code is issued.
