Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said on Thursday that addressing climate change requires the full effort and commitment of all governments and people around the world.
Welcoming all guests attending the COP28 conference, which began on Thursday, the Crown Prince of Dubai said this is an “exceptional mission” for the good of the planet and our future generation.
“We welcome all guests to the COP28 conference, being held in the United Arab Emirates at Expo City Dubai, and wish success to all participants in this global event…” Sheikh Hamdan posted on X, formerly Twitter .

“The United Arab Emirates and Dubai have always represented an inspiring global model in the ability to achieve the impossible and limitless partnerships… Today, we set out with the same spirit and determination. The High Council has an exceptional mission to achieve tangible achievements for the good of the planet and the future of generations, and confront the main challenges posed by climate change… We believe in the essence and importance of this issue, and addressing it requires all the effort and commitment of all governments and peoples of the Earth,” he added.
