The President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received on Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is on a state visit to the country.
United Arab Emirates Air Force aircraft escorted the plane carrying the Russian president when it entered Emirati airspace.
Putin’s convoy was received at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi with official reception ceremonies. Accompanying his convoy was a procession of riders on the backs of Arabian horses.
Sheikh Mohamed accompanied Putin as they inspected the guard of honor and watched performances of the national anthems of Russia and the United Arab Emirates. The official reception ceremony also included a 21-gun artillery salute in honor of the visit and a flyover by the UAE Air Force’s Al Fursan aerobatics team, leaving a trail of smoke in the colors of the Russian flag.
