Lost your Nol card in the Dubai metro? Learn how to report it and get your refund

[ad_1]

From online tools to in-person installations, here’s a guide to follow in case your card is lost or stolen.

Finding out that you have lost your Nol card just before leaving for work can be an annoying revelation. The worst thing is that there was a significant amount of money on the previous card.

For those who find themselves in this situation, RTA has created a simple way to report the loss of the Nol card, block it and even recover the money.

Whether you have a registered card or a personal card, here are the steps to follow if your card is lost or stolen.

Registered Nol card

Registered Nol card users have the advantage of having their regular silver or gold Nol card linked to their mobile number. This makes it easier for RTA to refund the old card balance or transfer it to a new Nol card.

Those who have lost their card in the metro can immediately go to the ticket office of the nearest metro station to inform them of the incident and proceed to block the card and submit a refund request.

These are the steps to follow in other cases:

  • Request a refund through any RTA verified channel (nol Pay, RTA website, smart service machines, box office machines, self-service machines)
  • Please provide the Nol tag ID, mobile number and PIN code of the Nol card to which refund will be made
  • Select refund method: cash or Nol balance
  • Card block request created after previous confirmation

Refund is approved after four days from the shipping date.

  • Customers can collect their balance in cash at any metro station listed in the refund approval SMS, or through smart ATMs located at any customer service centre.
  • Those seeking a Nol balance transfer can activate the transferred amount to the new card by inserting the card or tapping it on any online device (Nol payment app, parking machines, solar machines or metro gates).

nol personal card

The Personal Nol card or in simple terms the “blue” card is offered to offer reduced fares and is applicable to certain groups of people.

If you lose this card, this is what you can do:

  • Request card replacement through the RTA website
  • Enter Nol Tag ID and Mobile Number
  • Select the refund reason and enter the pin code
  • Select refund method: cash or Nol balance transfer
  • Card lock request is created after lock

Refund is approved after four days from the shipping date.

  • Customers can collect their balance in cash at any metro station listed in the refund approval SMS, or through smart ATMs located at any customer service center.
  • Those seeking a Nol balance transfer can activate the transferred amount to the new card by inserting the card or tapping it on any online device (Nol payment app, parking machines, solar machines or metro gates).

Which cards are not eligible for a refund?

Anonymous Nol cards that are not registered with a traveler’s mobile number are not eligible for a cash back or Nol balance transfer.

Red notes that are temporarily used are also not eligible for a cash refund or Nol balance transfer in the event of theft or loss.

Important things to keep in mind

  • Those with registered or personal Nol cards must collect their refund within 30 days of the refund approval date.
  • No balance transfer is valid for activation within 180 days from the approval date.
  • The customer bears the costs of issuing a replacement card in the event of its loss.
  • A Nol card is blocked within 48 hours of being reported stolen or lost. During this time, RTA is not responsible for any financial losses incurred.
  • Customers who have obtained their Nol cards from banks must submit the refund request directly to the issuing bank.
