List of countries that will grant visa-free entry or visa on arrival to Indians and Pakistanis in 2024

Both South Asian passports have weakened in the last ten years, falling from respective positions.

Henley & Partners Passport Index revealed that the strength of passports of India and Pakistan improved by three and one positions in 2024. The Indian passport was ranked 80th, while the Pakistani passport was ranked 101st.

Both South Asian passports have weakened in the last ten years. While the Indian passport has fallen from 76th to 80th this year, the Pakistani passport has weakened from 92nd to 101st. The Pakistani passport was also the fourth worst globally, behind Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

The Index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Authority (Iata). Additionally, publicly available and reliable online sources were also used to match each passport to the 227 possible travel destinations.

List of countries that Indian citizens can visit without a visa or obtain a visa on arrival in 2024:

Africa: Angola, Burundi, Comoros Islands, Cape Verde, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Zimbabwe

Asia: Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Laos, Macau (SAR of China), Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, East Timor

Americas: Bolivia, El Salvador

Caribbean: Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago

Oceania: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Niue, Palau Islands, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu

middle East: Jordan, Oman, Qatar

NOTE: Starting December 6, 2023, Indian citizens with a regular passport valid for a minimum of six months from the date of arrival, who have a visit visa or a US-issued green card valid for a minimum of six months or a residence in the UK or EU. With an ID valid for a minimum of six months, a visa on arrival can be obtained for a maximum stay of 14 days for a cost of Dh191 (subject to change). They can request an extension of their stay for an additional 14 days for Dh250 (subject to change) through the Amer offices in Dubai. Indian citizens who have an extension letter for residency in the US are not eligible for a visa on arrival. (According to a note published on the Emirates airline website).

Asia: Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, East Timor

Caribbean: Barbados, Cook Islands, Dominica, Haiti, Montserrat, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago

Oceania: Micronesia, Niue, Palau Islands, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu

middle East: Qatar
