The two Pakistani children, Asma Imran Khan, 9, and Ahmed Imran Khan, 6, who were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Sharjah hospital along with their mother following the fire in their apartment , have recovered well and were expected to be discharged today (Friday).
However, the mother, Fatima Imran Khan, was still undergoing treatment and was unconscious at Sharjah’s Al Qassimi Hospital while her carbon monoxide level was normalizing.
In an unfortunate incident that occurred early Thursday morning, father Imran Khan and his daughter died in the fire.

Hailing from the city of Lahore, the family lived in the Muweileh area.
A team from the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, led by Community Welfare Attaché Imran Shahid, visited Sharjah’s Al Qassimi Hospital to meet doctors and Imran Khan’s brother-in-law Zaheer.
After recovery, the children will be handed over to the Sharjah Child Protection Department, which will subsequently hand them over to their relatives after completing the procedures in consultation with this Consulate. The bodies of the deceased will be sent to Lahore for burial.
The visiting team requested the relevant authorities of the hospital, police and forensic departments to expedite the issuance of necessary medical reports to enable death notifications to be issued at the earliest.
