The UAE is a key growth market for Irish businesses

Street He said that during the visit, Enterprise Ireland and Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU),

“Strategically designed to unlock lucrative opportunities for Enterprise Ireland clients, especially in the areas of technology, manufacturing, ESG and cleantech.”

The partnership, he noted, will further strengthen Irish investment, trade and commercial links in Dubai, while promoting economic and trade relations, which aim to pave the way for fast-growing Irish companies to expand in the region. .

When asked about the success stories of Irish businesses over the last year internationally, the Irish Minister of State for the Promotion of Trade, Digital and Business Regulation said:

“As Irish innovation continues to be in demand, exports from Irish businesses supported by Enterprise Ireland continue to grow substantially year on year. In 2022, exports to the UAE increased by 22 percent compared to 2021, reaching €161.5 million (US$175.5 million).”

“Our partnership with Dubai Chambers seeks to provide Irish businesses with a global platform for continued evolution and position Ireland and the UAE as visionary drivers of progress.”

“At Arab Health, with the support of Enterprise Ireland, we will highlight our wide range of cutting-edge healthcare innovations from Ireland. The pavilion has generated great interest, and healthcare professionals in the region are keen to collaborate with the delegation of Irish innovators in the healthcare sector. “17 innovative Irish companies supported by Enterprise Ireland will bring their world-leading solutions in life sciences, medical technology and healthcare.”

Finally, Street highlighted Ireland’s proven experience as a pioneer in the global aviation and aerospace industry, revealing plans to meet with leaders and experts within the UAE aviation industry, such as Emirates Airlines and Dubai International Airportto continue exploring avenues for growth and partnership.

“There are currently approximately 250 Irish companies operating in the aviation and aerospace sector and they have played a key role in shaping the success of the industry in the Middle East. In particular, 200 of these companies are active Enterprise Ireland customers and contribute significantly to the Irish economy (€1.8 billion). “The range of Irish travel technology companies supporting the UAE aviation sector will strengthen new opportunities and provide innovative solutions for the world’s leading aviation companies.”
