Dubai: The winners of the Hope Makers Initiative will be honored in Dubai on February 25, organizers announced on Friday.

The Hope Makers Initiative, the largest initiative of its kind in the Arab region celebrating philanthropists, will host the coronation ceremony of its fourth edition at the Coca-Cola Arena in City Walk, Dubai.

The ceremony will be held under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. The winner of the Hope Makers title will receive a monetary prize of Dh1 million.

Operating under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), the fourth edition of the Hope Makers initiative attracted more than 58,000 nominations from across the region. Proceeds from the closing ceremony will go towards humanitarian efforts and initiatives that aim to advance communities.

noble values

On his official account on Platform X, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “Creating hope is the highest expression of humanity and noble values. Quietly planting the seeds of good is the essence of the true civilization that humanity seeks. Tens of thousands of inspiring Arabs who joined the fourth edition of Hope Makers will illuminate new paths that will lead to the rise of the Arab world and a better tomorrow. On February 25, we honor those whose dedication to the betterment of their communities is a way of life and who made it their mission to help those in need.”

“More than 300,000 Arab hope creators attended the 4 editions of this initiative. We firmly believe in the ability of the Arabs to write new chapters in the history of the region. The growing number of people joining the initiative each year gives us hope, because life can improve when we sow kindness,” added Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Promote inspiring initiatives

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiative, said that the Hope Makers initiative reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision of charity and philanthropy, promoting inspiring initiatives that have the potential to generate positive changes in the Arab communities. Al Gergawi noted that the UAE will always be a leader in generating hope throughout the region.

“The Hope Makers initiative continues to foster and encourage all humanitarian and voluntary initiatives that aim to leave a positive impact and benefit the Arab region now and in the future. This noble cause is among MBRGI’s priorities and is a reflection of our mission to empower people and institutions that create change.

“The fourth edition of Hope Makers is a milestone in the history of the initiative, as it shows unique examples of generosity, optimism and hope for a better future despite the challenges. The closing ceremony will mark a brilliant new achievement in the field of hope generation and humanitarian efforts across the region,” he added.

humanitarian mission

The Hope Makers Initiatives are aimed at all Arab individuals and institutions that, voluntarily and without seeking financial or material gain, have a creative and impactful project, program, campaign or initiative that aims to improve a certain aspect of the community, alleviate the suffering of those in need, solve a local challenge or improve the quality of life of a specific segment of the community.

The initiative highlights the efforts of Arab hope-makers who dedicate their time, efforts and resources to helping others, alleviating suffering and generally improving life around them. It also aims to promote its projects through traditional, digital and new media platforms.

Financial reward

The most influential and distinguished hope creators are rewarded by financially supporting their initiatives so they can expand their reach. Furthermore, the initiative instills a culture of hope and positivity throughout the Arab world and sheds light on inspiring young Arabs who can act as role models and motivate positive changes, celebrating them as the new and true celebrities deserving of fame.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum first launched the Hope Makers initiative in 2017, when he posted a creative advertisement on his official social media accounts, offering a job for the Hope Maker position for a reward of Dh1 million.
