RTA launches new weekend-only bus route, starting February 9

Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing a new dedicated weekend bus route, W20, which will begin on February 9, 2024.

Operating from Friday to Sunday between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., this service will offer departures every half hour, connecting the Stadium metro station with Al Mamzar beach. This service is offered for the convenience of bus passengers, especially Al Mamzar beachgoers.

RTA It also aims to optimize several public bus routes to improve passengers’ daily transportation experience, ensuring smoother and more comfortable journeys to various destinations across the emirate. These improvements aim to speed up the mobility of bus travelers and reduce travel times.

Improvements include renaming Route 11B to Route 11 to improve the bus user experience. Additionally, Routes 16A and 16B are being rerouted and renamed Routes 16 and 25, respectively. Route 16 will start at Al Rashdiya Bus Station and head to Al Awir, while Route 25 will start at Gold Souq Bus Station heading to Al Rashdiya.

Further modifications will be made to certain bus routes to improve passengers’ daily travel experience: route F62 will be expanded to include Dubai Festival City and the Al Garhoud neighborhood. Route C04 will be extended to the Mohammed bin Rashid Library. Routes 103 and 106 will offer direct, non-stop service from major stations to Global Village. Route E303 is being diverted via Al Ittihad Street towards Sharjah. As of the same date, routes 16A, 16B, 64A will be discontinued. Additionally, RTA Transit Agency will introduce travel time improvements for the following 13 bus routes: 5, 7, 62, 81, 110, C04, C09, E306, E307A, F12, F15, F26 and SH1 for Ensure faster travel times for passengers.

RTA reaffirms its ongoing commitment to expanding the public bus network and improving its integration with other modes of public transport, including metro, tram and maritime transport. He believes that the development of interconnection between various modes of transport will make them the ideal mobility option throughout the emirate.
