The right expertise and multidisciplinary care at American Hospital Dubai helped a young Kuwaiti man’s life return to normal.


The patient’s parents decided to take their son to American Hospital Dubai after searching in Kuwait and failing to find the right diagnosis in Kuwait.

“Talal suffered from a rare immune disease that caused him breathing problems, bone pain and the inability to walk,” his parents say. “She was in a wheelchair. His condition did not improve. Instead, he developed acute side effects from the steroids and became frail and obese; His bones became thin, he had vertebral fractures and could not walk. He used a wheelchair to get around when he arrived at AHD.

At AHD, Dr. Omendra Narayan, director of the sleep laboratory and pediatric pulmonologist, directed her care and other pediatric specialist doctors at the hospital further investigated her condition.

He had received comprehensive information from a pediatric pulmonologist, rheumatologist, pediatric endocrinologist, pediatric orthopedist, pediatric otolaryngologist, and pediatric nephrologist at AHD.

Dr. Narayan adds that Talal has improved significantly in six months with proper treatment. “He lost weight and improved his bone density and overall strength.
