Emirates and ITA Airways sign memorandum of understanding expanding codeshare cooperation

Emirates and ITA Airways have today signed an MoU for the expansion of their existing interline into a full codeshare partnership.

Once activated, codeshare will increase travel and connection options for customers traveling between Dubai, Italy and beyond.

The MoU signed today will lay the foundations to strengthen the partnership between both airlines, creating unique connections to popular cities in Italy and Europe with ITA Airways, and opening up simpler and faster travel to the Emirates network from Dubai with the best routes. , schedules and connections.

“Enhancing our partnerships and boosting our presence in key regions such as Europe is an integral part of our business strategy and underlines our commitment to providing flexibility to customers through our partners’ complementary networks. Working closely with ITA Airways will strengthen our presence in interesting cities in Italy and key points in Europe. “We look forward to fully activating our partnership with ITA Airways in the coming months and providing unrivaled access to our two growing networks.”

“We are pleased to sign this codeshare partnership with Emirates today. This MoU further enhances ITA Airways’ growth business strategy and opens a privileged access route to all passengers who will benefit from connectivity via Rome Fiumicino and Dubai. “This agreement marks the company’s 35th codeshare partnership, an excellent result we have achieved in just over two years.”

Under this agreement, Emirates Customers will have seamless access to several national cities in Italy from Rome, including popular destinations such as Florence, Genoa and Palermo. Additionally, they can connect with several European cities, including Tirana and Sofia. Instead, ITA Airlines Customers can benefit from expanded options by connecting to the Emirates route network from Dubai via Rome.

The collaboration aims to offer bundled tickets, seamless baggage transfers and reciprocal loyalty benefits. Pending government approvals, codeshare flights will progressively become available on online and travel agency platforms. Emirates has operated in Italy since 1992 and currently operates 41 weekly flights to four Italian ports.
