United Arab Emirates: Temporary ban on some vehicles in Abu Dhabi on October 2 – News

There will be a temporary ban on the entry of some heavy vehicles and buses transporting workers into Abu Dhabi on Monday (October 2), the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrol Directorate announced on Saturday.

Authorities said entrances, including Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa Bridge, Mussafah Bridge and Al Maqta Bridge, will be prohibited for some heavy vehicles from 6 am to 12 pm on October 2, to give move on to the inauguration of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) 2023, which will run until October 5 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (Adnec).

Vehicles used by public sanitation companies and logistics support services are exempt from this temporary truck ban, Abu Dhabi Police said.

General Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi, deputy director of the Directorate of Traffic and Patrols of the Central Operations Sector, said traffic patrols will be deployed on all routes and intelligent traffic surveillance will be intensified to provide more efficient traffic control . He also called on all motorists to respect all traffic rules and regulations.

According to the organizers, Adipec 2023 will have the participation of more than 2,200 companies, including 54 of the main local and international energy players. The four-day event will address global climate and energy challenges, as well as decarbonization efforts to accelerate the energy transition and environmental sustainability.
