With more than 100,000 trees spanning an area of 1.6 million square feet and rising to a height of 281 meters above sea level, the UAE’s latest attraction, the Hanging Gardens in Kalba, is now open for visitors. residents.
The garden, located on the Sharjah-Kalba highway, was inaugurated by Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah, on March 8.
Dr. Sheikh Sultan inaugurated the opening of the garden and toured its sections with the attendees. He inspected the aesthetic elements of the garden, including green spaces, flowers adorning the terraces and waterfalls. He also enjoyed a musical performance by the school students expressing their love and appreciation.

Residents of Kalba also expressed their gratitude to Dr Sheikh Sultan and praised his support for the development projects he initiated in the area. The ruler of Sharjah took commemorative photographs with the children and toured the central garden restaurant, which seats 215 people. The restaurant features a classic semi-circular architectural design and offers views of the gardens and waterfall.

The Sharjah ruler also visited the designated children’s recreational areas, which are divided into three sections according to age groups. He carefully inspected climbing routes with three different difficulty levels, showing agricultural terraces, waterfalls, lush trees and colorful flowers along the way.

In addition, Dr. Sheikh Sultan inspected the track of the excursion train with a capacity of 55 people and a length of 820 meters, which passes through 4 stations. One station is located in the upper cafeteria, while the other three are located in the garden. The train stations offer waiting areas, giving visitors a great opportunity to explore different parts of the garden and its recreational and amenity features. In addition, the park includes a 760-meter running track that surrounds the emblematic points from the inside.
The ruler of Sharjah then moved to the upper area of the Hanging Gardens, where a restaurant building was built using traditional wooden architecture to serve visitors. The restaurant, located 270 meters above sea level, has capacity for 100 guests and offers a stunning panoramic view of three sides of the Hanging Gardens.
The project offers various amenities for visitors, such as 262 parking spaces, facilities for the disabled and electric vehicle charging stations. Additionally, facilities include bathrooms, prayer rooms for both sexes, and a cafeteria offering light meals.
