Dubai announces four annual celebrations for workers

Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al MaktoumCrown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, the Labor Regulation Sector in the General Directorate of Residence and Immigration (GDRFA) In Dubai, it has announced four annual celebrations dedicated to the emirate’s workers. These celebrations will coincide with Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, International Workers’ Day and the New Year.
Eid Al Fitr celebrations will take place in three prominent locations in Dubai: Jebel Ali, Al Quoz and Muhaisnah, from April 7 to 12. Workers who attend the event will have the opportunity to win valuable prizes, including cars, gold bars, smartphones and discount cards.
The Eid Al Fitr festivities will be supported by the Dubai Land Department (DLD) as the exclusive sponsor, while Emirates Airline will act as the official airline. Sobha Realty Dubai will be the Diamond sponsor, while Taqdeer Award and Malabar will be the main sponsors of the Eid Al Fitr celebration.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri underlines the importance of recognition in driving success and development, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to human rights and worker well-being. It highlights the country’s efforts to educate workers about their rights and provide comprehensive laws to safeguard them.
Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita discusses the expansion of the Taqdeer Award, which reflects Dubai’s dedication to worker well-being and excellence. Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor expresses gratitude to employees, aiming to celebrate their contributions during Eid Al Fitr with the support of various stakeholders.
Key activities
The event program features a labor market-inspired environment reminiscent of traditional UAE bazaars, with a wide range of local foods, crafts and products. The celebrations are enhanced by sports tournaments, such as cricket, badminton, volleyball, football and basketball. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy musical performances and participate in contests aimed at expanding their knowledge.
Workers have the opportunity to win valuable and exciting prizes. Emirates Airline, the official airline of the event, will offer air tickets. Also up for grabs are three new Nissan Sunny cars, 150 mobile phones and 600 special Taqdeer Prize discount cards, offering significant savings on purchases all year round. Additionally, Malabar will contribute 300 gold bars, adding a golden sheen to the variety of prizes.
