UAE traffic alert: Rolling closures announced in Abu Dhabi on Friday for bike tour – News

Abu Dhabi authorities announced road closures on Friday due to the UAE Tour Women cycling race.

Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Center (ITC) said on Thursday there will be rolling closures in certain parts of the UAE capital from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.

The second stage of the Tour will take place from Al Mirfa Bab Al Nojoum to Madinat Zayed.

According to the map provided by ITC, the first lockdown will take place from 12.30 to 12.55 pm, followed by the second phase from 12.55 to 1.30 pm. The third phase is from 1:30 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. followed by the fourth phase from 1:40 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The fifth phase will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., while the sixth phase will be from 3:00 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. The seventh phase will be closed from 3:10 p.m. to 3:20 p.m., followed by the eighth phase from 3:20 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The ninth phase takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 3:35 p.m., followed by the tenth phase from 3:35 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. The eleventh and final phase will be from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In the second stage of the Tour, called the Modon Stage, the runners of the 20 teams cover a distance of 113 kilometers.

The authority urged motorists to drive with caution and respect traffic rules and regulations.

This is the second edition of the Tour and the race will end on February 11.

The first stage, called the Dubai Stage, took place in Dubai on Thursday. The cyclists covered a distance of 122 kilometers from Dubai Miracle Garden to Dubai Port.

Traffic was temporarily suspended on some roads between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. for a period of 10 to 15 minutes.

The Roads and Transport Authority said the affected areas were Hessa, Al Khail, Sports City, Sheikh Zayed Bin Hamdan, Al Qudra, Saih Al Salam, Saih Al Dahl, Umm Suqeim and King Salman bin streets. Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.

The third stage will be from the Al Ain Police Museum to Jebel Hafeet on Saturday, while in the fourth and final stage the runners will start at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum and finish at the Abu Dhabi breakwater.
