Modern International Hospital saves the life of a tourist with timely intervention for a severe heart attack

The patient, a Russian-speaking lady, arrived at the IMH emergency department at midnight complaining of intense chest pain. Upon evaluation, her electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed alarming signs of an acute anterior wall ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, commonly known as a severe heart attack.

The coronary angiography results were concerning and showed complete blockage (100% occlusion) of the left anterior descending artery, a critical blood vessel supplying the heart. Without delay, Dr. Shah performed an emergency coronary angioplasty, using a drug-eluting stent to restore blood flow to the affected artery.
After the successful intervention, the patient was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for further monitoring and specialized care. Surprisingly, just three days after her admission, the patient was discharged from the hospital, with no chest pain and able to walk comfortably.

Despite speaking Russian, the patient and her family received clear explanations about the diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis.
