Ministry of the Interior launches first Unified Traffic campaign for 2024

The Ministry of the Interior, through the Federal Transit Council, began its inaugural unified transit campaign for 2024, with the theme “Safe Driving for Bicycle Users.”
The main objective is to create traffic awareness among bicycle users, underlining the imperative of adhering to instructions and following road safety guidelines to safeguard lives and property.
This initiative aligns with the ministry’s ongoing commitment to cultivating awareness and a responsible traffic culture among drivers of motorcycles, electric vehicles and bicycles, with the ultimate goal of minimizing incorrect behavior, ensuring the rights of road users and promote the highest safety standards.
Brigade Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, affirmed,
“The campaign will extend during the first quarter of 2024 and will be carried out in collaboration with strategic partners, ministries, federal and local agencies, and various entities dedicated to traffic safety. The objective is to reach the broadest social segment through of awareness messages in Arabic, English and Urdu on various social media platforms.”
Al-Harithi He emphasized that the campaign includes disseminating awareness messages to all types of bicycle users, emphasizing compliance with traffic laws at all stages of the journey. Users are urged to comply with safety and security requirements, including designated roads, following traffic laws, wearing a helmet, appropriate clothing and safety tools.
The campaign underlines the importance of ensuring the safety of tires and brakes, the suitability of the bicycle before riding it, respecting the correct path on internal and public roads or on cycle paths and refraining from riding in a way that endangers the life and safety of others.
