Dubai Supreme Energy Council takes strategic initiatives to support infrastructure

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council (DSCE), chaired the 80th meeting of the Council, which was held at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira hotel in Dubai, in the presence of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of the DSCE.

The meeting was also attended by HE Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council, and members of the board of directors HE Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality; HE Abdulla bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA); HE Saif Humaid Al Falasi, CEO of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC); Juan-Pablo Freile, CEO of Dubai Petroleum; and Hussain Al Banna, executive director of the strategy and corporate governance sector at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The Council discussed new measures to support the development of the retail fuel distribution sector so that it is compatible with the highest international standards in this field and keeps pace with the notable increase in demand over the past three years. The Council has adopted initiatives that will have a positive impact in ensuring smooth distribution operations at fuel stations as well as providing mobile fuel distribution vehicles to meet the needs of consumers.

In support of the Dubai Green Mobility Initiative 2030Dubai Highways and Transportation Authority (RTA) introduced a program to issue accreditation certificates to entities and companies that manage fleets of green vehicles, including electric and hybrid cars. This supports Dubai’s goal of increasing the number of environmentally friendly cars in local markets.

The Council wishes to ensure that the transition towards the sensible use of all types of energy is based on systems and strategies integrated with programs that support the sustainable development of Dubai. This will be achieved with the participation of government and private entities to ensure effective implementation to achieve the objectives outlined in the roadmap towards a green economy.”

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum honored the members of the Board of Directors of the Regulation and Supervision Bureau (RSB) of Electricity and Water in Dubai, His Excellency Qusai Al Shared, Chairman, His Excellency Ahmed Al Muhairbi, Vice Chairman, and Mustafa Al Yousuf, Board Member , for his effective contributions to enhance the successes of RSB, His Highness also honored Nasser Lootah, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Dubai Supreme Energy Council in its first cycle. His Highness also welcomed the incorporation of the new members of the RSB Board of Directors in its new cycle, HE Qusai Al-Shared as President, Ramiz Alaileh as Executive Director and Ali Bu Ruhaima, as a member of the board. .
